From market stalls to malls, pop-up stores to international chains, shops are windows into human stories, The Makhazine lets you take a peek inside.

The Makhazine is a source of news, opinions and analysis for readers who want to be challenged, informed and entertained about the retail industry.

The Makhazine investigates the global and broader issues that affect the retail industry, from business to art, design to history and architecture to politics.

The Makhazine puts storytelling at its heart by giving a voice to retailers, employees and consumers, through a mix of in-depth features, essays, interviews, facts & figures, reviews and event listings.

Adapted from the arabic word ‘makhāzin’ (storehouses) and french ‘magasin’ (store) or italian ‘magazzino’ (storehouse), magazines were conceived to be, in a figurative sense, storehouses of information. Coming full circle, The Makhazine is a storehouse of stories about stores.
